Imports!
Have you bought any mice from abrouad? How did it work with transport? And what did you think about the mice? Was it a BIS-winner or just a good breeding mouse or…?
This year I´ve imported mice from Neatherlands (Henry van Raaij) and Finland! In the past I´ve imported mice from England, Neatherlands, Finland and so on. I´ve been so lucky the transport has never been any problem. Just want to solve transportproblem from USA to Sweden…
How do you manage transport from abroad? Do people regulary travel to Sweden or what… I haven't found many sites with breeders abroad, and those I've found are often not in English, so how do you get past the language-barriers?

I go myself to the Netherlands to get mice (and hamsters, and rats…). We're maybe goning to England in sept. to get some rats (maybe something else too). I travel to France also… I want to go to Germany some time too ^^
Usually they're pet mice. The rats from UK are more "show winner to be"… I've good and bad experiences with that…

This year in Julay and June I get mice from Germany (BIS winner, some to breed) Finland (capped, sable, black tan - only to breed) Neatherlands (also BIS some to breeding only becase they have problem with tail ;-) ) Sweden ( for breeding lh Morakullans, fawn Phoenix) In the past I had lh satin astrex from Apollon (FIN) from Russian (they was poor) one pet from Sweden (poor "brindle")
I would like to get hairless and another from England and tricolor (USA) is nice to have also.
I or my friend jusualy go abroad, language isn't problem (even you have bad english like I) problem is when breeder from abroad don't want to answer :]
So, you´re going to Amerika?
Here is one of my new Imports from Neatherland (Henry van Raaij), the buck Erasmus.

Grodan I would like to go, but it will be hard…….
This male is very nice, so………maybe you are going to Poland?
I´m not a big fan of travelling, so if I´m going I would like to have some company… but no one can afford a trip at this moment…
Erasmus is young so I haven´t breed on him yet! So there will be babies in time… But he is one of the mice I would be able to show…
It would have been soo nice to take a trip to a big show like the Rodentfestival in Neatherlands, and we discussed it here on mus-ifokus… but when the date was moved we got other things to do - like going to Finland and have our own show…

So, I have new babies from Spooner's (Germany) - one boy extream black a(e)a(e) and girls half extream aa(e) parents are from UK and Sponers.

Would it be easy to take some mice from Sweden to the UK?
It depends on how you are traveling. By air I think there´s not many companies that allows mice. Finnair I think allows you to bring mice and rats. By boat it´s much easier.
Hello! I'd be travelling by boat, I hope to get all the way to Sweden and home again without flying. Do you have to declare them or keep them secret and hope no one notices? I'll be coming over in April and hope to leave after a few months, depends how much I like Sweden! :-)
Cool! Where are you staying?
Do you live in UK? I think you got other regulations to bring over pets to UK than to Sweden - we can bring 10-12 rodents without papers (EU-regulations). So the best thing is to check out with boat company. Are you going to sleep in mixed cabin (with other people)? Then it can be a bit difficult to just bring mice… (if some of them are allergic or just have an atitude).
I'll see if I can find out about any regulations. Yes I live in the UK, in Hampshire. I haven't decided where to stay yet, I'm going to do some wwoofing (working for free on organic farms) so I'll find out where that takes me. I'm really interested in the burmese and silver/blue agouti mice you have in sweden and yur black tans look stunning!
Wwoofing sounds very interesting!
Do you have anything special in UK you can bring to us? Recessive Yellow, Abyssinian, Tiger (the American Brindle)? So we can exchange mice…
I've not got any of those myself, and haven't heard of any on the UK mouse forums, but I can ask around, there's still plenty of time till I'm coming to sweden after all! If you find someone in the UK with something you want, perhaps we could arrnage for me to bring it with me?
kirsty are you still comming to Sweden in April?
